PebbleBoy Privacy Policy

PebbleBoy is a Game Boy emulator for Pebble smartwatches. Netcavy Media hosts its settings page at ptv.netcavy.net/gb. That's the only part of PebbleBoy that touches a Netcavy Media server, and it doesn't collect or store anything about you.

The settings page

  • The page is a static file. Your current settings reach it inside the address's # fragment, which browsers never send to the server.
  • ROM names, ROM links, scaling and audio options are sent straight back to the Pebble app on your phone when you press save. They never reach Netcavy Media.
  • When you import or export a .sav file, your phone reads the file locally. The save data goes to the app on your phone, not to any server.
  • The page doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts, and the server doesn't keep access logs.

ROM links

You choose the ROM links yourself. Your phone downloads ROMs directly from those addresses, so the site hosting each ROM sees that request under its own policies. Netcavy Media doesn't host, see or log ROMs.

What stays on your phone and watch

Your ROM list, settings and game saves are stored by the Pebble app on your phone and watch. Uninstalling PebbleBoy removes them.

Third parties

  • Cloudflare. Requests for the settings page pass through Cloudflare, which processes them (including your IP address) under its own privacy policy.
  • Pebble / Rebble. The app is installed and configured through the Pebble mobile app, which has its own policies.
